On Saturday, December 1, 2018, Thunderbird Alumni, family and friends toasted the holidays with a joint 5-chapter holiday party. Sponsored by the Greater Bay Area Alumni Chapters (Silicon Valley, San Francisco, North Bay, East Bay and 40PLUS), the event drew over 100 people for an evening of holiday festivities.
The event was held at the Hyatt Regency SFO in Burlingame, California, where guests enjoyed dinner, drinks and dancing until late into the night. Also, joining us that evening were Patrick McDermott, Chief Engagement Officer at Thunderbird, and Dr. Mary Teagarden, Associate Dean & Professor of Global Strategy. Each of them spoke on the latest from Thunderbird and provided an update on the move to the new downtown Phoenix facilities, as well as the new Thunderbird building being developed.
Party goers also participated in a silent auction with numerous exciting items. The proceeds from the auction are being earmarked for a special Bay Area Alumni Scholarship at Thunderbird - details of which are currently being drafted. We are happy to report that the silent auction raised over $700!
