First, in honor of all good Irish, Happy Saint Patrick’s Day! Apparently, that is the safest greeting you can use. All others are at your own risk. I almost started a heated debate on my virtual water cooler at work when I innocently wrote “Happy St. Patty’s Day!”, which prompted a quick reply of letting the “Patty vs. Paddy” debate begin.
This is what education is all about. Don’t you agree? Seriously, it’s worth a read, if only to make you smarter the next time to grab a beer with someone.
Second, another funny or fun fact associated with March 17th, is that you need to remember to wear green or risk getting pinched. My Irish teammate actually reminded of this today, when she said that she couldn’t go out tonight because she couldn’t find anything green to wear. Feeling ever so helpful, I suggested that she tape a green leaf to her and head on out.
Finally, my last fun fact is that a member of our illustrious crew bowed out of our Thunderbird leadership meeting today because, and I quote…
“Sorry guys. I won’t be able to make it tonight. It’s a very important religious holiday to my people.”
If that’s not dedication to Saint Patrick, I don’t know what is. Don’t forget to save the date for our April First Tuesday. We’re in the midst of picking a cool spot soon.
